TENSINET - COST ACTION TU1303 SYMPOSIUM 2016 - Novel structural skins
The leading theme of the upcoming Symposium will be Novel structural skins - Improving sustainability and efficiency through new structural textile materials and designs.
The 3-day event will start with an Open Session on Wednesday 26 October (14:00 - 20:00) with a focus on Built projects. The aim is to attract an audience of architects, engineers and professionals, new to, or not regularly involved in the design of Novel Structural Skins who are interested in recent developments and gaining an impression of the possibilities of structural membranes and the creative solutions light weight skins offer.
The 2nd and 3rd day of the Symposium will be in depth presentations on research topics and results, covering the following areas: New applications of structural skins and new concepts; Sustainability and Life Cycle Analysis of structural skins; Building physics and energy performance of structural skins; Materials and analysis; From material to structure and limit states: codes and standardization.
Prominent experts in the membrane architecture and engineering world will introduce each plenary session.
The keynote speakers:
- Shajay Bhooshan (Zaha Hadid Architects)
-
Raul Fangueiro (University of Minho)
-
Al Fisher (Buro Happold)
-
