Aachen, Dresden and Denkendorf, together, are forming the 'textile triangle' of the future

Boasting over 600 participants most recently, this conference counts as one of the most important textile conferences in Europe. Starting in 2016, the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research, Denkendorf (DITF) are now also a co-organizer. Thus, the Aachen-Dresden-Denkendorf International Textile Conference will take place on a yearly alternating basis at one of the three sites. Parallel to the International Textile Conference, the organizers respectively launch the German Textile Colloquium as a national equivalent with changing special themes in the spring.

7th IMS INTERNATIONAL TEXTILE ARCHITECTURE SEMINAR _ 1st IMS INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR IN THE USA

It is the first IMS Symposium in the US and will take place from May 17 to May, 19, 2018 at the prestigious School of Architecture at the University of Miami.
The Symposium is a didactic and academic event which, in the short period of just three days, will count on the experience of great professionals who will give master lectures on Tensile Architecture. At the same time, it will be a unique opportunity to interact and to meet a large number of professionals, students and craftsmen currently involved in the industry and the world of Membrane or Tensile Structures. Consequently, this offers a special chance to meet one another both on a personal and on a company level and this way improve our professional and commercial relationship within the industry.

Topic: The planning, design, and increasingly frequent inclusion of high‐tech membrane structures within the modern architecture. Likewise, the rising importance and popularity of this global industry.

We cordially invite you, the experts from the fields of Textile Technology - Chemistry and Engineering, Medical Technology, Membrane Technology and Fibre Composites

to submit abstracts for talks and poster presentations. Your abstract should address one of the following topics:

The Seventh Latin American Symposium of Tensile Structures will be held from 12^th until 14^th September 2018.

In July 2018, the annual Symposium of the IASS – International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures – will take place in Boston, an American hub of academics and innovation. Hosted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the symposium aims to bring together leading designers and researchers working in the fields of structural engineering and architecture from around the world.

The symposium theme, Creativity in Structural Design, celebrates work in the built environment that pushes beyond the status quo and synthesizes across disciplines to solve important problems of today and the future. Empowered by recent advances in computation, materials, and fabrication, creative structural design is expanding possibilities for shell and spatial structures.

IASS 2018 Boston will take place from July 16 to July 20 on the campus of MIT, with the iconic shell structure of Kresge Auditorium as the principal venue.

Plastique Fantastique is a platform for temporary architecture which samples the performative possibilities of urban environments. Established in Berlin in 1999, Plastique Fantastique has been influenced by the unique circumstances that made the city a laboratory for temporary spaces and has specialised in creating pneumatic installations as alternative, adaptable, low energy spaces for temporary and ephemeral activities.
The transparent, lightweight and mobile shell structures relate to the notion of activating, creating and sharing public space and involving citizens in creative processes. They are in many ways the simplest of structures – a skin that separates but also connects. The result is a site specific installation that breathes new life into the city and makes the invisible visible.

At present Plastique Fantastique develops project-oriented teams to realise a wide range of projects worldwide, depending on the specific request.

International platform for architects, engineers, scientists and the building industry

The aim of the Conference on Advanced Building Skins is to contribute to a multidisciplinary, integrated planning approach by architects, engineers, scientists and manufacturers to reduce the energy consumption of buildings. By fostering a lively exchange between these groups, this conference will shed light on the significance of the building skin, with a view to putting scientific know-how into practice.

We are inviting you to present a paper on a topic falling within the scope of the conference, and to submit a proposal by 15 February, 2018. Below are the topics which will be covered in our Conference 2018.

The 6th International TensiNet Symposium “Softening the Habitats: Sustainable Innovations in Minimal Mass Structures and Lightweight Architectures” will take place from the 3th to the 5th of June 2019 at Politecnico di Milano, in Milan, Italy.

The 2019 TensiNet Symposium (TS19) is organized and hosted by the TensiNet Association and in particular by Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) and Textile Hub, which is an interdepartmental research laboratory on textiles and polymers at PoliMi.

The 2019 TensiNet edition will open a twofold reflection - by means of both the conference (TS19Conf) and exhibition (TS19Exhib)- on current innovations, trends and strategies in the field of lightweight membrane structures and mainly on the future of those technologies, which the TensiNet Association is interested in: tensile and pneumatic structures, textile architecture, membranes and foils, ultra-lightweight constructions and structural skins.

The main topic are Soft Structures, Softening the Environment & Soft Skins.
