IBERTOLDO 2008
Ibertoldo, the specialist awning, tent and solar protection fair will soon be opening its doors on its 7th edition on the 29th of October in the Fira de Cornellà [
This year Ibertoldo 2008 will be holding its second cycle of conferences on 30th / 31st october. This time round the themes are: Technological textile developments for the awning sector; What can technological centers offer the awning sector?; The European standard EN 14501, blinds and shutters, thermal and visual comfort; and Domotics, home automation & sun protection: a winning combination. This year the focus is on exterior and interior design, solar protection and garden and swimming pool accessories. Naturally, the more traditional sectors will make their presence be felt as always. This includes the manufacturers of fittings, home automation, textile machinery and technical textiles.

“International Symposium on Architectural Membranes” (ISAM) 2009
The objectives of ISAM 2009 are to provide information on fundamental properties and present the state-of-the-art in textile roof and inflatable structures.
The workshop will address both the theoretical bases for structural analysis necessary for efficient and robust computer implementation. A significant part of the workshop will be devoted to discussing advances in new textile composites for applications in membrane structures, as well as innovative design, construction and maintenance procedures.
In addition to a full program of lectures and tutorials presented by key figures responsible for internationally renowned projects from the membrane structure industry and academic organizations, opportunity for study and hands-on development of practical case-studies is provided.
During the second day of the workshop, an excellent opportunities for both professionals and students to put in manufacturing tensioned structures models, sharing all experiences with rich mix of experts during the process of development and manufacturing up to the final and real model all in friendly tutorial environment.
In summary, ISAM 2009 - Dubai aims to be the official forum in the Middle East Region for discussing latest advances and identifying future research directions in the field of textile composites and inflatable structures.
The lectures and tutorials topics will include: Design Methods, Physical Modeling, and Numerical Methods for Structural Analysis, New Membrane Materials, Testing Procedures, Manufacturing, Construction Methods, Maintenance Techniques, Energy Efficiency Aspects, Climate Impact and Environmental Aspects and project Case Studies.
