IASS 2024 symposium (26-30.08.2024) REDEFINING THE ART OF STRUCTURAL DESIGN – call for abstracts, deadline 31.12.2023
Next summer IASS 2024 REDEFINING THE ART OF STRUCTURAL DESIGN is hosted by the National Centre of Competence in Research Digital Fabrication (NCCR DFAB) at the Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) of ETH Zurich. The NCCR DFAB is Switzerland’s initiative to lead the development and integration of digital technologies within the fields of architecture and construction.
The conference chairs are Philippe Block, Jacqueline Pauli, Catherine De Wolf and Walter Kaufmann. The Block Research Group at ETH Zurich recently became a university member of TensiNet. In the video you can get to know the chairs and get an impression of the beautiful city of Zurich in Switzerland. IASS has several Working Groups of which WG6 “Tension and Membrane Structures” is chaired by Ken'ichi Kawaguchi and Marijke Mollaert.
We encourage you to write an abstract about an interesting project, research or new product. Abstracts must be submitted online by 23:59 (CEST), Sunday 31.12.2023. See link for more detailed information.

IASS ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM 2025
Merging of the Living Past as a Source of Innovation
Mexico has already held two previous editions of this symposium – the first time in 1967 in Mexico City and the second time in 2008 in Acapulco, Guerrero. The third edition would be at the Palacio de Minería, located in the historic center of Mexico City.
The Palacio de Minería was built from 1797 to 1813; it is the work of the Spanish architect Manuel Tolsá, and it is considered in its genre one of the most beautiful and important buildings in America. It is currently the headquarters of the Center for Continuing Education of the Faculty of Engineering - UNAM and other societies and associations of engineers.

Podcasts Lightweight & durable
Podcasts by Serge Ferrari Group + TensiNet
In these podcasts, you'll discover the benefits of tensile architecture, and in particular how tensile structures help to reduce the carbon footprint of construction. Our experts, world-renowned for their expertise in this field, share their thoughts on this fascinating subject. The 4 podcasts were recorded during the symposium TENSINANTES2023 at Nantes Université on Thursday 8th June 2023.

Techtextil and Texprocess 2024
The planning for Techtextil and Texprocess from 23 to 26 April 2024 is off to a promising start.
Exhibitors from over 40 countries have already registered to take part. This also includes exhibitors who have decided not to participate in 2022.
The coming trade fair editions will revolve around the theme of sustainability and present future-oriented solutions for the textile industry.
Start-ups are given an high-visibility platform at the world's leading trade fairs to find business partners. Techtextil and Texprocess reflect the innovative power of technical textiles, textile manufacturing and processing technologies. This is demonstrated by a broad spectrum of exhibitor presentations and a comprehensive complementary programme, including the Techtextil or Texprocess Innovation Awards.

Advanced Textiles Expo 2023 (IFAI)
Join more than 4000 attendees at the textile industry’s flagship show.
Access the industry’s leading companies, enjoy live product demonstrations on the show floor and social events, discover the latest innovations in technology and textiles.
Organized by Advanced Textiles Association (ATA).

General Assembly TensiNet 2024
The General Assembly will take place during Textile Roofs Workshop 2024.
It will be organised at the AMERON Hotel Abion Spreebogen Berlin.
The hotel is located in front of the pier where Textile Roofs 2024 on the Seminarship Berlin boat "ORCA ten BROKE" will be held.

Textile Roofs Workshop 2024
26th edition!
These workshops are concerned with the design of architectural membrane roof structures. For most people such roofs are typified by world famous sports stadia and temporary exposition structures. Although prestigious buildings of this type continue to utilise tensile roofing systems, the scope of application has widened considerably over the past decade. Today tensile roofs are routinely used in shopping centres, corporate headquarters, leisure centres, zoos, schools and even factories. With a combination of visually dramatic curvilinear form, and economic efficiency, such architectural solutions represent an attractive option for many situations.
The textile roof industry continues to grow world-wide. In order to encourage this development, workshops on the Design and Realisation of Textile Roofs have been held in for more than 25 years. Due to their practical emphasis and unique format, these events have proven increasingly popular.
The participants of the previous events have come from a wide range of backgrounds ranging from established experts to novice students. This rich-mix appears to form part of the popularity of the workshops.
The main objectives of this workshop are to provide fundamental information, as well as presenting the state-of-the-art in textile roof engineering. Above all, the workshop aims to provide practical answers to real-world questions
